Hō’ike Hula O Leilani 2015

Hō’ike Hula O Leilani 2015, which is an annual Hula recital and Polynesian dance show, will be held tomorrow night on Saturday, February 7 at Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall.

I'm introducing this event because my daughter will be dancing there.  This will be her 4th Ho'ike and I'm proud of her who has practiced hard for three years.   At the same time,  I renewed my respect to my wife who has been working hard to prepare for all her costumes and accessories while I was just a driver for her to go back and forth to the place of practice at Kapaa and Koloa.

I realized learning Polynesian (Hula, Tahitian, & Maori) dance was never easy.  It needs so much dedication, so much time of practice and preparation.   However because it is so difficult to learn, they help each other and naturally learn Aloha under the guidance of Kumu Hula who has so much energy and enthusiasm to transmit the heart of Polynesian cultures.    Indeed, Kumu Leilani, halau members, and parents are very kind and supportive to new students to continue.   Thanks to their Aloha, my daughter will be dancing tomorrow.

Once again, Hō’ike Hula O Leilani 2015 will be held at Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
