Bon Dance Practice for True Beginners at WKH Hanapepe Temple

2016 Bon Dance Practice for beginners started today on February 4 at 6:00 p.m. at West Kauai Hongwanji Hanapepe Temple.  This practice will be held every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. during February and March. And from April, seasoned dancers will join in the practice.

According to Mr. Alton Miyamoto who is so enthusiastic about inviting more people to Bon Dance,  "This class is for the true beginners to gain confidence."  So the host temple is asking seasoned dancers to refrain from joining the practice in February.  I thought this was a very good idea since I experienced being shy when I joined in the practice for my first time.  Without being watched by the audience or other good dancers, beginners can concentrate on learning dancing.  No more shy.  Then once beginners get how to Bon dance, I'm sure they'll be both confident and happy dancing!!!!

So if you were one of the audience at the Bon Dance in the past, this practice shall be a definitely ideal first step to the Bon Dance Debut!!!

The instructor is Mrs. Aiko Nakaya, an outstanding Japanese Dance teacher and known as a Iwakuni Singer for many years.  For more information, please look at the news.   Then If you have further questions, you may contact me but I'll pass your questions to Mr. Alton Miyamoto (ahmiyamoto@hawaii.rr.com).
